Maryfield’s aim is based on the guiding principles of our foundress, Frances Taylor. This is to provide a supportive, stimulating and homely environment for residents, encouraging them to retain their independence and choice in order to maximise their quality of life. “Respect the dignity and uniqueness of every individual, especially amongst those most in need in our society”.


Maryfield Nursing Home is set amongst 4 acres of landscaped grounds, close to the picturesque village of Chapelizod.  It is designed to meet the needs of more independent people as well as those requiring full-time care.

Maryfield grounds comprise of Maryfield Nursing Home and Independent Living Accommodation. The community consists of 24 apartments, 8 chalets and a 54-bed nursing home with en-suite rooms and emergency bells, providing a wide range of care services.


Maryfield Nursing Home strives to provide the highest quality of care for elderly residents with low, medium, high and maximum levels of dependency. We accommodate both female and male residents aged 65 and over with general and dementia care needs. We offer a multitude of services, therapies and a full activities calendar.


You will find Maryfield to be friendly and homely and staff that are caring, kind and professional. It is a ‘home from home’ where we aim to enable our residents to live as full as life as possible.

We are passionate about our commitment to excellence and our aim is always to provide person-centred care. We believe in preserving the residents’ dignity as well as allowing them to be as
independent as possible.


The Director of Nursing and the management team are responsible for the day to day running of the Home. The Director of Nursing is qualified and competent to lead the team of nurses, care assistants, household, physiotherapist, activities, catering and reception staff in delivering a high quality of service.



Complaints are dealt with in accordance with our complaints procedures, which are on display in the Nursing Home, and can be available on request.

Complaints Procedures and the Ombudsman

If you have complained to us and you’re not satisfied with our decision on your complaint it is open to you to contact the Office of the Ombudsman.  The Ombudsman provides an impartial, independent and free service. By law, the Ombudsman can examine complaints about any of our administrative actions or procedures as well as delays or inaction in our dealings with you. The Ombudsman’s remit relates to complaints about actions with occur on or after 24th August 2015. The Ombudsman cannot examine complaints about actions which occurred before that date with the exception of complaints from residents eligible to complain under “Your Service Your Say”(Residents whose place is provided under a contract with the HSE.)
